What we name
Classical yoga is soteriological: a path of cessation, not a workout brand. We name Hindu, and also Buddhist, Jain, and tantric streams, without collapsing them into one poster. Modern postural yoga is a 20th-century Indian synthesis (Singleton 2010), labeled without cynicism. No OM-as-logo. No deity chrome. No guru-hero photography.

Disclosure
Modern yoga teaching lineages have a documented pattern of guru sexual abuse and of institutions protecting abusers rather than students. Pattabhi Jois: independent survivor accounts; Sharath Jois’s 2019 acknowledgement. Other schools have their own records. Hands-on adjustment is not shipped as a video product here and is opt-in only where a living class exists. This paragraph is a named pattern, not a graphic account, and not a full investigation.
